David Kirby has informed me that they will be running coaching master classes at KES in Stratford on May 26th and 27th and on the 13th June. The sessions are driven by the needs of coaches, but some of the things that they may cover include:
- Weapon and blade skills for demonstrations and individual lessons, including using scientific research to directly enhance a fencing lesson;
- Piste-side coaching and what to do in the break;
- Planning and recording for, of and from training and competition.
Please do note that the training is off-syllabus for BF Level 2 (or BAF) coach education, however it will be highly beneficial for your person coaching efficacy. You should leave a better coach. What we do is expected to fit in with the new concepts BF are working towards and are intended to be a good start for the upcoming BF Levels 3 and 4 into the future.
